The Distinction Group was established by Constantine Contopoulos and Evan Goldschneider in 2023. Together they have over 40 years of experience as top-performing executives at financial institutions on both large and small scales. Central to their achievements has been a dedication to continually innovate and adapt to an ever-changing investment landscape.

Constantine Contopoulos

Co-Founder

Constantine is the managing partner of The Distinction Group. Previously, he was head of macro hedge fund and asset manager sales for developed market rates in North America at BNP Paribas.  Prior to this role, Constantine was a managing director at Credit Suisse within the firm’s fixed income division from 2007-2018, where he oversaw client relationships for interest rates, foreign exchange, and credit instruments. Constantine also spent 4 years in management consulting, advising major investment banks across a range of strategic projects. He holds a Master’s in Business Administration from Yale University with a dual concentration in finance and entrepreneurship and a Bachelor’s of Science in Engineering from Tufts University, where he graduated magna cum laude. Constantine has been an active fundraiser and board member for philanthropic organizations with a current focus on curing type 1 diabetes. 

Evan Goldschneider

Co-Founder

Evan is responsible for capital placement at The Distinction Group. Previously, he was a managing director of institutional sales at Masterworks.io, and before Masterworks, he spent 16 years in the alternative investments industry. Evan has served in institutional investing and capital-raising roles for hedge funds, private credit managers, and venture capital funds. From 2016-2022, he was a partner and co-founder of Hawthorne Lane Capital Group, a placement agent focused on niche, emerging managers. Evan also ran a fund of hedge funds at Beachhead Capital Management. Additionally, he was an investment committee member and strategy head at Olympia Capital Management, a $6B fund of hedge funds. Evan holds a BA in Economics from the University of Michigan and an MBA from Georgetown University, where he currently serves as an adjunct professor for a course on hedge fund investing.
